Audience

Senior Consultants and above who have limited experience as a team lead or project manager and who expect to lead a larger team or project in the near future.

How to Get Certified

PMI requires individuals to achieve either 1,500 experience hours of related project management work or 23 education hours in related project management topics from a source recognized by PMI, and to complete the CAPM exam. Deloitte recommends that you achieve both the work and education requirements and that you achieve the education hours by using the courses identified in the CAPM Learning Path on the roadmap in the PM Knowledge Center.

Specialized Diagnostic and TestPrep Tools

When you are getting started, you can use the Advanced PM Skill Diagnostic TestPrep (CAPM) or Advanced PM Skill Diagnostic TestPrep Report (CAPM) to diagnose your project management skill levels.

This tool helps you identify your areas of strength and your areas for development and provides easy access to the learning materials you need.

When you are ready to take the certification exam, this tool also helps prepare you for the exam by simulating the exam environment.

Cost

The cost of the CAPM from PMI is $225 for PMI members or $300 for non-members. You may want to consider basic membership with PMI, which is $119. See www.pmi.org for information about PMI membership and for benefits related to this membership.

Support for the costs for CAPM certification and PMI membership can be requested through your Deloitte Responsibility Center (RC). Practitioners seeking CAPM certification should obtain approval from their regional service area leader and verify that the cost is appropriate according to expense compliance standards in advance of incurring the expenses.
